ARCA Menards Series champion Andres Perez will contest his second career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start on Friday, in the season finale at Phoenix Raceway.

The native of Mexico City, Mexico will pilot the No. 04 Group 1001 / CarQuest Chevrolet Silverado for Roper Racing Team in Friday’s 150-lap contest from Avondale, Arizona. NASCAR’s Preliminary Entry List, originally released on Monday, had Marco Andretti set to pilot the No. 04 Chevrolet in Friday’s event.

Perez has spent the last two seasons competing full-time in the ARCA Menards Series REV Racing, where despite several close calls and near-misses, the 19-year-old driver remains winless through 41 career starts.

This season, with 10 top-five and 17 top-10 finishes in 20 starts, Perez carried his No. 2 Chevrolet SS to a commanding victory in the ARCA Menards Series championship over teammate Lavar Scott.

Earlier this season, at World Wide Technology Raceway (WWT Raceway), Perez made his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut driving the No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado for Spire Motorsports, bringing home a top-10 result, in ninth.

Friday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season-finale at Phoenix Raceway marks the tenth start of the 2024 campaign for Roper Racing Team, which has fielded the No. 04 Chevrolet Silverado on a part-time basis this season for Marco Andretti, Clayton Green, and Cory Roper.

The No. 04 entry has recorded three top-25 results in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this season, two with Cory Roper at Daytona and Talladega, and one at Indianapolis Raceway Park with Marco Andretti.

Bruce Cook will continue working with Roper Racing Team as crew chief of the No. 04 Chevrolet Camaro this weekend at Phoenix Raceway, as he has done all season with various drivers.

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway will take place on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 8:00 PM ET with coverage on FOX Sports 1, Motor Racing Network (MRN) and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Channel 90).
