Richmond Clubb Motorsports will be without one of the organization’s two primary drivers for the foreseeable future, after team co-owner Alex Clubb announced on Saturday Afternoon that Tim Richmond would be sidelined indefinitely after suffering a broken tibia and fractured ankle in a lap 23 accident at Michigan International Speedway on Friday, in which the No. 27 Chevrolet was an innocent victim.

The accident was seemingly an act of retaliation from Thad Moffitt to Drew Dollar, after both drivers got loose and slapped the wall on the first lap of the Henry Ford Health Systems 200 at Michigan International Speedway. Moffitt got to the inside of the Venturini Motorsports driver later in the first-half of the event, sending the Sunbelt Rentals Toyota spinning up the track and directly into the path of Richmond, who made a nasty impact to the driver’s door of the No. 15. At the time, both drivers were able to exit their cars under their own power, but Richmond was sent for further evaluation at a local hospital.

For the small organization, the absence of Richmond from the organization’s driver lineup leaves a vacancy in three of the six remaining ARCA Menards Series events for the No. 27 team at Milwaukee (August 29), Bristol (September 16), and Salem (October 2). The team has yet to announce their official plans, regarding a replacement.
