Well, I think the talk about NASCAR becoming irrelevant and slipping away into an abyss of lower and lower television viewership can now silence. Sunday’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoff race at Kansas Speedway put down some incredible numbers.

The race nailed down 3.32-million viewers during the race, which was ultimately won by Denny Hamlin after a thrilling battle with Chase Elliott for the lead late in the event.

The viewership for this race was up an astonishing 20-percent from the 2.76-million viewers that this same race drew a season ago. This is NBC’s most-watched NASCAR event of the 2019 season.
