What in the world just happened?! Tate Fogleman scored his first-career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win in Saturday’s Chevrolet Silverado 250 at Talladega Superspeedway in a chaos-filled overtime finish.
It looked like John Hunter Nemechek had the race-win secured, but with Fogleman pushing heading into the frontstretch, Fogleman opted to make a move for the win. As Fogleman got beside Nemechek, he lost control of his truck and slammed into Nemechek, which sent Nemechek’s No. 4 truck spinning.
“I kind of felt things were going right, finally, at a superspeedway,” Fogleman said after the race. “I never finished a superspeedway race before. I had a good feeling about it. We lined up there in third on the inside and knew we had to be aggressive.”
Fogleman would collect the race win narrowly over Tyler Hill. The official margin of victory was just 0.052 seconds, the fourth closest finish in Talladega Truck Series history. Fogleman and Hill also crashed as they crossed the finish line. As a result, Fogleman had to head to the infield care center after climbing from his truck.
“I knew at the end, nobody was going to give any room to anybody,” Fogleman stated. “I just pushed and did the best I could. I got pushed from behind and we were able to do it.”

NASCAR on FS1 had to leave the air before the interview with Fogleman was able to air. Here is the entire victory interview for Fogleman, outside of the infield care center:

Saturday’s Truck Series race at Talladega was wild and featured some massive crashes.
With 37 laps to go in the race, the big one broke out. Todd Gilliland bump drafted Austin Hill, which sent Hill into Zane Smith to the outside. When the dust settled, 21 trucks had been involved in the crazy crash.
With 19 laps to go, Grant Enfinger was sent for a ride when he attempted to block a run by Sheldon Creed. Enfinger spun to the inside and collected Stewart Friesen, Clay Greenfield and Hailie Deegan. Carson Hocevar also spun in the chaos.

And then on the final lap of the race, all hell broke loose.
Going through turns 3 and 4, Matt Crafton made contact with Bret Holmes, which sent Holmes into Danny Bohn and back into Ben Rhodes.
This left John Hunter Nemechek, Tate Fogleman and Tyler Hill to battle for the win back to the finish line.
Nemechek held the top spot, but Fogleman had a big run through the trioval. Fogleman pulled out to make a pass, but lost control of his truck and contacted Nemechek, which spun Nemechek out. Fogleman got to the finish line before crashing hard with Tyler Hill.
Fogleman and Hill finished 1-2, while Todd Gilliland came home in third. Gilliland led a race-high 39 laps.
Nemechek would finish fourth, while Ryan Truex was fifth.
Cory Roper, Spencer Boyd, Bohn, Chase Purdy and Keith McGee rounded out the top-10 finishers in the race.
