On Tuesday, there was some great news for an upstart NASCAR Xfinity Series team — Sam Hunt Racing. The No. 26 team took to Twitter to announce that they have officially entered a formal relationship with Toyota Racing Development.

Of course, no specifics were given in the Tweet, but you would imagine SHR will at the very least be receiving their engines from TRD for the 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series season.

Sam Hunt Racing made their NXS debut in last year’s season-finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The No. 26 team finished 21st with Colin Garrett behind the wheel.

Garrett has been announced as the driver for the entry again in 2020.

The pairing of Hunt and Garrett have finished 10th and eighth in the overall championship standings over the past two seasons in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, despite not running the full-schedule.
