Roush Fenway Racing announced a massive sponsorship contract renewal on Saturday at Daytona International Speedway. Fifth Third Bank, which has served as a sponsor on the No. 17 RFR car for over a decade, will return as a primary partner on the No. 17 machine in a multi-year agreement, which will extend at least five years.

“For the past 10 years, Fifth Third Bank has been a true partner to Roush Fenway Racing,” said team president Steve Newmark in a team release. “On and off the track they have been there in full support of our efforts – both as our official bank helping guide our financial path and as a primary on the No. 17 Ford. The relationship with Fifth Third has grown into one of the strongest partnerships in NASCAR, and we‘re privileged to announce this a multi-year renewal that will ensure Fifth Third will remain as part of the Roush Fenway family, and a key supporter of our sport, for years to come.”

The company has visited victory lane with Roush Fenway Racing twice. Both wins came in the 2017 season with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. behind the wheel of the No. 17 car. However, Chris Buescher has had some strong runs since taking over the ride in 2020.

“We couldn’t be prouder of our partnership with Roush Fenway Racing and are pleased to extend our relationship with this iconic team for up to another five years,” said Lee Fite, president of Fifth Third Bank’s Mid-Atlantic region. “Roush continues to outperform and overdeliver on their commitments to Fifth Third, yielding a best-in-class ROI on our sponsorship.”

With one last chance to punch himself into the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, Buescher sits 17th in the championship standings. If Buescher and the No. 17 team can find a little bit of superspeedway luck, they could carry the Fifth Third colors into victory lane on Saturday night.
