Justin Allgaier led a race-high 156 laps in Monday night’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Cheddar’s 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway, but his race ended with four laps remaining after his JR Motorsports teammate Noah Gragson made contact, which sent Allgaier spinning into the inside wall.

“I really apologize to Justin and his No. 7 team,” Gragson said after climbing from his car. “That’s not how I want to race. But I saw the position open up, he slipped off the bottom the lap before. I tried to get to the bottom. I just got too loose.”

Gragson, who led 55 laps in the race, took his second checkered flag of the 2020 season.

Chase Briscoe followed Gragson to the finish line in second, while Brandon Jones, Harrison Burton and Myatt Snider finished inside the top-five.

Daniel Hemric recorded a solid sixth-place effort, while underdogs Brandon Brown, Jeremy Clements and Josh Williams finished seventh thru ninth.

AJ Allmendinger rebounded from a couple of incidents to finish top-10.

Allgaier would finish 18th officially, six laps off the pace after the overtime finish was run.
