After more than a decade of competing exclusively in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and ARCA Menards Series, Young’s Motorsports is set to jump into the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2024.
The organization, which fielded three full-time entries in the NASCAR Truck Series and a part-time ARCA Menards Series entry, will debut its brand-new Xfinity Series program in the season-opening event at Daytona International Speedway.
Leland Honeyman, an 18-year-old racer from Mooresville, North Carolina, will contest his first full-season campaign in the second-tier series, as he drives the No. 42 Chevrolet Camaro for the newly-established organization.

“In 2024, I’m thrilled to be racing full-time for Young’s Motorsports in their newly launched Xfinity team,” Honeyman said in a team press release. “Joining them as they step into this exciting series, I’m filled with confidence about our collective potential for the upcoming season.
“The prospect of racing full-time in Xfinity adds an extra layer of excitement, and I can’t wait to contribute to our team’s journey and make our mark on the track.”
Honeyman is no stranger to working with Young’s Motorsports, though, having run the full ARCA Menards Series East schedule in 2022, finishing third in final point standings behind Sammy Smith and Taylor Gray.
Longtime Young’s Motorsports crew chief Andrew Abbott will serve as the crew chief for Honeyman.
Throughout 472 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series starts Young’s Motorsports has recorded a pair of victories with drivers Spencer Boyd and Tate Fogleman, both of which came at Talladega Superspeedway.
Last season, Honeyman contested eight races in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, seven of which came with Alpha Prime Racing, and one start came with MBM Motorsports. Honeyman scored a best finish of 21st, which came at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL.
