Over the course of just a few weeks, Justin Allgaier has transformed a season from frustration-filled, to being a legitimate NASCAR Xfinity Series championship threat. Allgaier took his second win of the season on Friday night in the GoBowling 250 at Richmond Raceway after a spirited battle with Kaulig Racing’s Justin Haley.

Haley jumped out to the lead early in the final run of the race, but Allgaier played it cool and took it easy on his tires. This allowed Allgaier to have more speed down the stretch when it mattered. Allgaier would make the winning pass on lap 221 of the 250 lap event.

Allgaier, who led a race-high 78 laps, also won Stage 2 earlier in the race to bring his total of Playoff points earned on Friday night to six.

Behind the duo of Filter-sponsored cars, Kyle Busch, who was making his final NXS start of 2020, who finished third.

Austin Cindric came home fourth after winning Stage 1 and Ross Chastain, who showed strength all night, finished fifth.

Brett Moffitt impressed with a mighty sixth-place performance in Our Motorsports’ No. 02 machine.

Michael Annett, Noah Gragson, Kaz Grala and Riley Herbst rounded out the top-10 finishers in Friday’s race.

Matt Mills (13th) and Tommy Joe Martins (15th) also turned in solid runs in their underdog rides.

This was the first race of a weekend double-header for the NXS at Richmond.
