A new report from NASCAR via Bob Pockrass confirms that Hemric has failed inspection, however, a crew member will not be ejected.

Additionally, Hemric will lose pit selection for next week’s race.

The Super Start Batteries 188 will get a bit more challenging for the No. 18 Poppy Bank Supra of Daniel Hemric, and Joe Gibbs Racing.

Hemric has failed pre-race inspection three times for an unspecified issue.

As a result of the failure, Hemric is expected to lose his starting position for today’s race, as well as a crew member per the NASCAR Rule book. Hemric was supposed to roll off fifth.

His Joe Gibbs Racing teammates of Harrison Burton, Brandon Jones, and Ty Gibbs are expected to roll off fourth, 14th, and 38th respectively with Hemric expected to fall to the rear.
