Brad Perez continues to land rides in the NASCAR National Series ranks. On Wednesday, the driver announced that he has secured an opportunity to run the No. 14 Ford Mustang for SS-GreenLight Racing in the upcoming NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Sonoma Raceway.

SSGLR team owner Bobby Dotter says the incredible work ethic shown by Perez, who has worked in a variety of roles in the sport including tire technician, spotter, and even crew chief in the ARCA ranks, led to the partnership.

“We are excited to have Brad join SS-GreenLight Racing for our race at Sonoma,” Dotter explained. “Brad works incredibly hard at every opportunity he gets and constantly overperforms in the equipment he races in! Can’t wait to see what he is able to do behind the wheel of the ref-ology & Weiss #14 at Sonoma.”

Perez, 27, will carry a plethora of sponsorship partners for the effort including co-primary sponsorship from ref-ology + Blast Equality Collab and Weiss Sand and Clay. Perez will also have associate sponsorship help from APEX Coffee Roasters, Team Schuler – Compass Real Estate, Ticket Smarter, Chubby Noodle Restaurant and the Women’s Premier Basketball Association.

“I’m very excited to work with Shelley Russi and her team over at ref-ology & Blast Equality Collab non-profit, who I had the pleasure to meet over a year ago at this very event,” Perez said in a team release. “I’ve been a fan of Bobby Dotter’s program at SS-GreenLight Racing for years and the opportunity to work with Jason Miller and the 14 team is a privilege. I thank them for the opportunity along with my longtime partners at Weiss Sand & Clay and Apex Coffee Roasters for making this possible. Going to the Bay Area is something I look forward to every year, I love the team at Sonoma Raceway and SMI, and I am happy to give it my best effort at one of the most beautiful racetracks in the country.”

The native of Hollywood, Florida has made eight starts in NASCAR Xfinity Series competition and has a best finish of 18th, which he achieved at Circuit of the Americas earlier this season.

Perez has collected three top-20 finishes in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, and he also has five starts in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series ranks. Prior to moving into a driving role in NASCAR, Perez often competed in various Mazda Miata road course racing divisions.
