Anthony Alfredo has been penalized for his actions in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway. Alfredo, who drives the No. 5 Chevrolet Camaro for Our Motorsports, was assessed a $25,000 fine by NASCAR and docked 25 driver points.

The penalty comes as a result of an early-race accident with Stefan Parsons, where the two made contact exiting turn 4, and Alfredo appeared to retaliate, clipping the No. 45 Alpha Prime Racing Chevrolet in the right-rear. Parsons was sent hard into the outside wall on the frontstretch, ending his evening after just 62 laps.

Following the incident, Alfredo was assessed a two-lap penalty for rough driving. The Connecticut native’s night would also end prematurely after the No. 5 blew a tire and impacted the turn 3 wall later in the event.
