NASCAR Unveils Third Installment of Repositioned 2020 Schedule

On Thursday Afternoon, NASCAR announced the release of the next wave of races scheduled for the 2020 season, beginning with Pocono Raceway on June 27th, and wrapping up on August 2nd at new Hampshire Motor Speedway.

The next wave of races includes, seven points-paying NASCAR Cup Series events, the All-Star Open and All-Star Race, six points-paying NASCAR Xfinity Series events and five points-paying NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series events.

FOX will close out its portion of the NASCAR Cup Series season with the All-Star Race on July 15th, with the NASCAR Xfinity Series season on FOX wrapping up at Kentucky on July 10th.

NBC will return for the start of their season with the Indianapolis Road Course event for the NASCAR Xfinity Series on Saturday, July 4th and the Brickyard 400 for the NASCAR Cup Series on the following day. NBC will then take a two-week hiatus, returning when the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series return to Texas Motor Speedway on July 18th and 19th.

Other Notes:

  • The ARCA Menards Series race on Wed. June 15th, sets up a triple header with the All-Star Open and All-Star race for Wednesday, June 15th.
  • The Pocono doubleheader remains scheduled for the last weekend in June, as originally planned.
  • The NASCAR Xfinity Series will race two races at Kentucky Speedway on consecutive days (July 9th and 10th), moving the Cup Series to Sunday Afternoon, instead of it’s regularly scheduled Saturday Night time slot.
  • Kansas Speedway will host five races in three days, with the Cup Series running on Thursday (July 23rd), a NGROTS/ARCA doubleheader on Friday (July 24th) and a NGROTS/NXS doubleheader on Saturday (July 25th).
  • The NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series event at Kansas Speedway (July 24th) has been repositioned from Chicagoland Speedway.
  • The NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Kansas Speedway (July 25th) has been repositioned from Iowa Speedway.

  • Kentucky Speedway has announced that all events on the June 9th – 12th weekend will be run WITHOUT spectators.
  • New Hampshire Motor Speedway has said it is unclear whether spectators will be allowed to attend the August 2nd NASCAR Cup Series event at the track.
  • Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced Wednesday Afternoon that all events for the July 4th – 5th NASCAR weekend would be run WITHOUT spectators.
