Chances are, if you’re reading this right now, you know someone who has suffered from breast cancer. It’s a horrible disease that has impacted the lives of many in the NASCAR industry and across the entire world. Mike Harmon Racing, a NASCAR Xfinity Series team, will be raising money in an attempt to bring attention to the cause for the upcoming Oct. 31st race at Martinsville Speedway.

The team will be selling 3″x5″ pink breast cancer awareness ribbon decals that will be placed on the No. 74 Chevrolet Camaro for the Martinsville race, which will be driven by Bayley Currey. Each ribbon is a $25 donation. For the $25, your ribbon will be added to the car with your name and a hand written name of a loved one, survivor or fighter against breast cancer.

The ribbons can be purchased at Mike Harmon Racing’s website (MikeHarmonRacing74.com).

A portion of the sales will be given to the Carolina Breast Friends non-profit organization. According to their website, CBF’s mission is to embrace the breast cancer community in a positive environment. They provide resources and education through fellowship and mentoring during any stage of the journey.

For the MHR team, breast cancer is a matter that is close to their hearts. A member of the public relations team, Cindi Kay Rivera has battled the disease. Rivera took time out to share a video of her telling her two-time breast cancer survival story.

If you would like to donate to the cause without securing a ribbon on the car, you can do that as well at the MHR website.

It has been a banner year for MHR, who recorded their first NASCAR Xfinity Series top-10 in team history earlier in the year with Kyle Weatherman driving their No. 47 machine at Kentucky.

Overall, the organization has improved greatly in 2020 and have featured two budding young drivers in Weatherman and Currey along with a list of cagey veterans who have alternated in their cars.

This is a truly heart-warming program, and it’s cool to see an underdog organization in the Xfinity Series using their platform to spread awareness of breast cancer.
