The racing isn’t the only thing that’s getting spicy this week in Tulsa, Oklahoma this weekend.

During a caution flag in the sixth heat of Tuesday’s racing docket, a spectator was escorted out of Tulsa Expo Raceway after violating the event’s COVID-19 protocols and guidelines.

What followed, was – quite frankly — a sloppy rendition of the well-known “one finger salute” maneuver, perfected over the years by citizens and champions alike – you may even remember 2020 NASCAR Cup Series Champion Chase Elliott performing the maneuver, upon NASCAR’s return in May.

The series of events was captured on camera by Flo Racing, and posted to Twitter by many, including Nick Yeoman:

In all seriousness, the official website for the event chilibowl.com has a whole section related to their COVID-19 guidelines and rules regarding this year’s running of the event, which explicity states that “masks must be worn at all times while in attendance. Expo officials will be monitoring this.”

If you plan on heading to Tulsa, Oklahoma this week to see the intense racing action, please visit the COVID-19 section of the website and ensure that you understand the guidelines in place.

Many NASCAR-related names will be participating in the racing action this week at Tulsa Expo Raceway in Tulsa, Oklahoma. TobyChristie.com’s Toby Christie broke it all down earlier this week:

Quite a Few NASCAR Names Will Compete in Next Week’s Chili Bowl Nationals
