After claiming his first career NASCAR Xfinity Series victory at Martinsville Speedway, Josh Berry will get to return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, expanding his schedule to include the his first career road course event aboard Jordan Anderson Racing’s No. 31 Chevrolet Camaro.
In the organization’s first NASCAR Xfinity Series start, Jordan Anderson Racing collected an eighth-place result at Circuit of The Americas with Tyler Reddick piloting the No. 31 Bommarito Automotive Group Chevrolet Camaro. Reddick will return to the seat for Saturday’s Alsco Uniforms 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
“I have made 16 Xfinity starts throughout my career – all on ovals. This is a great opportunity to get in another great Chevrolet race car fielded by Jordan Anderson Racing and add a road course to my resume. After the win at Martinsville this year with JRM, I am excited to see what the rest of the season has in store, and any opportunity to gain more experience helps us build for the future,” said Berry. “I am hopeful we will be able get the No. 31 Bommarito Automotive Group Chevrolet Camaro SS up front and continue the great momentum we have had.”
“Josh has had a lot of great success in a Chevrolet over the years, but strictly on ovals. As NASCAR moves its model to include more road courses each year, he will need to gain the experience on that type of track as well to contend for a Championship,” Stated Chevrolet Xfinity Series Program Manager Shane Martin. “JAR has great equipment and this is an opportunity that will allow Josh to sharpen his skills going both left and right.”

Jordan Anderson Racing’s move to put Josh Berry in the No. 31 at Mid-Ohio is a smart one, as it will automatically lock the organization into the Mid-Ohio event, regardless of if the team ends up in the top-40 in Owner Points after Saturday’s event at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
According to the NASCAR Xfinity Series Rule Book, when no qualifying is scheduled, any driver or team owner whose entry is outside the top-30 in Owner Points and has won a NASCAR Xfinity Series event in this, or the previous calendar year, is automatically locked into the event, meaning Josh Berry and Jordan Anderson Racing WILL qualify for the event.
9.6.3.2 ELIGIBILITY AND STARTING GRID POSITION AFTER THE COMPLETION OF RACE THREE WHEN QUALIFYING IS NOT SCHEDULED
- Positions will first be assigned to the highest 30 vehicles in NASCAR Xfinity Series Team Owner Points
- The next available starting positions, if any, will be assigned to any Team Owner(s) that have won at least one Championship Race in the NASCAR Xfinity Series during the current or previous calendar year, with the vehicle listed by the Team Owner, provided they have not already been assigned an available starting position
- The next available starting positions, if any, will be assigned to any driver(s) that have won at least one Championship Race in the NASCAR Xfinity Series during the current or previous calendar year, provided they have not already been assigned an available starting position
- The next available starting positions, if any, will be assigned to any Team Owner(s) whose driver listed on the Official Entry Blank | List for that Event by the entry deadline is a past NASCAR Xfinity Series Champion and who participated in the NASCAR Xfinity Series as a driver in the previous year and are eligible for NASCAR Xfinity Series Points.
- In the event of more than one eligible past series champion, available positions will be assigned in descending order starting with the most recent champion.
- The next available starting positions, if any, will be assigned to the Team Owner(s) that have made the greatest number of qualifying attempt(s) during the calendar year, with the vehicle licensed by the Team Owner for this year, in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
- Team Owner Points will break all ties.
