There are 38 cars on the preliminary entry list for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway. This race will mark the 12th of 36 races in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season.
With a maximum of 40 cars being permitted to start NASCAR Cup Series events, no drivers or teams will go home this weekend.
Denny Hamlin, who won last week’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Dover Motor Speedway, will return in the No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Camry XSE with primary sponsorship from Sport Clips Haircuts.
The two open cars in the field will be the No. 33 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and the No. 84 LEGACY MOTOR CLUB Toyota Camry XSE.
Austin Hill will return to the No. 33 entry for his second NASCAR Cup Series start of the season, while Jimmie Johnson will run in the No. 84 car for the second consecutive race.
Currently, Erik Jones is on the entry list in the No. 43 LEGACY MOTOR CLUB Toyota Camry XSE, but he is questionable after suffering a broken back at Talladega Superspeedway. Corey Heim will likely be the driver of the No. 43 LEGACY MOTOR CLUB machine this weekend if Jones is not cleared to race.
Riley Herbst will also notably drive the No. 15 Ford Mustang for Rick Ware Racing, and Derek Kraus will make his third NASCAR Cup start of the season in the No. 16 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet Camaro.
