There are 36 cars on the preliminary entry list for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the fifth race of the 36-race NASCAR Cup Series season.
With up to 40 cars permitted to start races in the series, no drivers or teams will have to take the long journey home to North Carolina following Saturday’s qualifying session.
Ryan Blaney, who overcame two pit road miscues to take his first win of the season on Sunday at Phoenix Raceway, will return to the No. 12 Team Penske Ford Mustang Dark Horse with primary sponsorship from Menards/Pennzoil.
With no “Open” entries on the entry list this week, there are no real surprises contained on the entry list for Sunday’s event.
While Alex Bowman’s status for Sunday’s race hasn’t officially been announced, the full-time driver of the No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet is listed as the driver for the No. 48 Chevrolet in the preliminary entry list. If Bowman isn’t medically cleared to compete at Las Vegas, obviously, Hendrick Motorsports will name a replacement driver.
Anthony Alfredo drove the No. 48 Hendrick Chevrolet in place of Bowman last weekend at Phoenix Raceway.
