There are 40 cars on the preliminary entry list for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Yellawood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, the 31st race of the 36-race 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season.

With up to 40 cars being permitted to start in races in the NASCAR Cup Series no drivers and teams will go home following Saturday’s qualifying session.

Ross Chastain, last week’s race winner at Kansas Speedway, will return as the driver of the No. 1 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 with primary sponsorship from Busch Light “Camo”. Chastain will be seeking his second win of the 2024 season, and his second career NASCAR Cup Series win at Talladega Superspeedway.

Among the notables in the field will be Cody Ware, who will pilot the No. 15 Ford Mustang Dark Horse for Rick Ware Racing. This will mark the eighth start of the 2024 campaign for the son of team owner Rick Ware. Cody Ware finished fourth last month at Daytona International Speedway.

Shane van Gisbergen will pilot the No. 16 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Kaulig Racing.

Among the “Open” entries this weekend will be AJ Allmendinger in the No. 13 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet, JJ Yeley in the No. 44 NY Racing Team Chevrolet, Anthony Alfredo in the No. 62 Beard Motorsports Chevrolet, and BJ McLeod in the No. 78 Live Fast Motorsports Chevrolet.
