There are 38 cars on the preliminary entry list for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Quaker State 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, the 27th race of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season and the opening race of the Playoffs Round of 16.

With up to 40 cars being permitted to start races in the NASCAR Cup Series, no drivers or teams will head home following this week’s qualifying session at the 1.54-mile hybrid intermediate/superspeedway track.

Chase Briscoe, who won last weekend’s Cook Out Southern 500 to lock his place in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, will return this weekend as the driver of the No. 14 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse with primary sponsorship from Mahindra Tractors.

Among the notables on the entry list among the 36 chartered teams is Cody Ware in the No. 15 Rick Ware Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse and Shane van Gisbergen in the No. 16 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

Ware finished fourth in his most recent outing in the No. 15 car, which came at Daytona International Speedway a couple of weekends ago. SVG, a full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series competitor, finished 26th in last weekend’s Southern 500 at Darlington.

There will be two “Open” entries that will compete this weekend, the No. 44 NY Racing Team, and the No. 78 Live Fast Motorsports team.

JJ Yeley will serve as the pilot of the No. 44 NY Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, while BJ McLeod will drive the No. 78 Live Fast Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
