Zane Smith’s final NASCAR Cup Series start with Spire Motorsports has ended prematurely, following a late-race crash at Phoenix Raceway.

Smith, driving the No. 71 Focused Health Chevrolet Camaro, was entering the first corner at full speed, when some kind of problem occurred on his Spire Motorsports entry, snapping him around.

The Huntington Beach, California native then slammed out the outside wall incredibly hard and damaged both ends of his vehicle. Thus, the severe damage to the No. 71, took him out of the race.

Smith will finish 39th after completing 247 laps.
