I don’t think style points enhance your chances of winning the Chili Bowl, right?

Well, someone might want to relay that message to Tanner Carrick, who captured the victory in Monday’s Prelim Night A-Main, but then proceeded to send his car into the wall and send it flipping in the first corner, just after finishing the race.

Despite Carrick’s odd post-race flip, he, alongside Tyler Courtney – who can be seen spinning in the replay — will advance immediately to the A-Main of Saturday’s 2022 Chili Bowl Nationals. Chase Johnson, David Gravel, and Nick Hoffman rounded out the top-five, with Cannon McIntosh making an incredible rally from the C-Main to finish sixth in the A-Main.

NASCAR Cup Series drivers Alex Bowman and Chase Briscoe will both begin Saturday’s ‘Alphabet Soup’ portion from the C-Main, after recording ninth and eleventh-place finishes in Monday Night’s A-Main.

However, the series’ most popular driver, Chase Elliott, will begin his journey on Saturday from the F-Main, making his journey to the A-Main a difficult one for a driver considered to be inexperienced on the dirt.
