Video: Stenhouse and Suarez Crash Hard After Going Four Wide With Ware and Alfredo on Lap 31

Any aspirations that Daniel Suarez and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. had of winning Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Quaker State 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, appeared to evaporate on lap 31.

Just after a restart, Suarez and Stenhouse were locked in a four-wide battle with Anthony Alfredo and Cody Ware. There just wasn’t enough room as Ware got loose and made contact with Alfredo, which sent Alfredo into Stenhouse, which sent Stenhouse into Suarez crashing both Suarez and Stenhouse hard.

Ware and Alfredo were able t avoid major damage in the incident and will look to continue their races without any major issues. Stenhouse appears to be done for the day, while Suarez’s team have made repairs and will attempt to finish the event.

Suarez and Stenhouse are two drivers who have a mathematical chance of working their way into a Playoff spot, but today’s crash really complicates their potential path to the Playoffs.
