After finishing runner-up to Kyle Larson at Nashville, Chip Ganassi Racing’s Ross Chastain was looking to ride the momentum into a strong run at the Pocono Raceway.

He’ll have to dig himself out of a hole following a lap 73 caution involving the Florida driver.

Chastain exited turn 2 too high and pancaked the wall. Once Chastain reached turn three, the No. 42 Camaro took a spin before entering pit road.

Chastain was the only car involved in the Lap 73 caution.

Entering the Pocono weekend, Chastain has been involved in eight on-track incidents in 17 starts according to the TobyChristie.com Incident Tracker.

The Chip Ganassi Racing driver finished stage two of Saturday’s Cup race in the 35 position. Teammate Kurt Busch claimed the stage two victory.
