Kyle Larson went for a spin and pounded the outside wall while battling Bubba Wallace for the lead late in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas.

Kyle Larson had taken control of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway, as he had led the majority of the second half of the race.

However, a late-race caution for a spin by JJ Yeley, put Larson under fire by Bubba Wallace on a restart on Lap 248.

Wallace nailed his restart, and was causing fits for Larson. As the two went into Turn 1 on the next lap, Wallace, who was still on the outside of Larson, took the air off the side of the No. 5 car, which sent Larson spinning into the outside wall.

Here is a video of the incident, which ended Larson’s shot at the win:

Larson, who led 99 laps on the day, went to pit road for repairs, but the damage to his car was too severe ti be repaired. Larson would go to the garage, and would be done for the day. The driver of the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet will be credited with a 31st-place finish.
