Unfortunate start to the afternoon for Kyle Larson, who is in the garage, after a crash down the backstretch on Lap 3.#NASCAR

There isn’t a single person in the NASCAR Cup Series field who is immune to the difficulty of Darlington Raceway, as was demonstrated early in Sunday’s Goodyear 400.
2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson was the first victim of the tough 1.366-mile racetrack in Darlington, South Carolina, after the Elk Grove, California-native hit a rough bump exiting the second corner.
That bump on the racetrack, which has only worsened as time passes, caused the Hendrick Motorsports driver to go spinning off the second corner, and smacking the inside wall.
The damage to the No. 5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet was significant, sending the beautiful Terry Labonte-inspired throwback paint scheme to the NASCAR Cup Series garage for damage to be assessed.
Under the new Damaged Vehicle Policy (DVP), Larson and Hendrick Motorsports will be allowed to return to the racetrack if the damage can be fixed, but it’s unknown at this time whether the No. 5 will be returning to action on Sunday.
