Video: John Hunter Nemechek Pounds Turn Three Wall During Green-Flag Pit Stop Cycle

It’s been a tough afternoon for John Hunter Nemechek and unfortunately, it’s going to end in the NASCAR Cup Series garage after a second major incident, this time during a green-flag pit stop cycle in the race’s final stage.

Nemechek was riding around with his wounded LEGACY MOTOR CLUB Toyota Camry XSE when his No. 42 Romco Equipment-sponsored car snapped loose, backing it hard into the outside wall.

The caution significantly shook the race up, as not everybody had made their final pit stop of the event, as the split strategies converged in the race’s closing laps. Those drivers who stayed out managed to gain a bunch of track positions, while those who did pit were trapped one lap behind.

The 26-year-old driver will finish the race 34th-place, a major hit in the points that will leave him further away from the playoff cutline.
