The first caution of the day flew on Lap 32 following a competition caution in Sunday’s Firekeepers Casino 400, with a hard hit for Rick Ware Racing’s Joey Gase.

Gase entered turn 2 when his No. 15 Camaro suddenly shot straight into the outside wall.

The Iowa driver rode against the outside wall for some time before coming to rest at the exit of the backstretch.

Gase was able to get out under his own power and went over to the right side of the car to see if anything was amiss.

A tweet from his verified Twitter account says that something had broke in the car, but failed to specify the issue.

Driver No. 15 records his first DNF of the season, in his seventh Cup start of the 2021 season.
