Jimmie Johnson Coca-Cola 600 spin crash 2023 Video LEGACY MOTOR CLUB
Jimmie Johnson went for a spin on Lap 75 of Monday’s Coca-Cola 600, and damaged his No. 84 LEGACY MOTOR CLUB car.

It’s been a rough return to the NASCAR Cup Series for seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson. In Monday’s Coca-Cola 600, Johnson had moved from the 37th starting position to 25th, but on Lap 75, it all came undone for Johnson.

The No. 84 LEGACY MOTOR CLUB Chevrolet Camaro just kicked sideways on Johnson, and he couldn’t wrangle it back in. As a result, Johnson went for a spin, which ended with him colliding with the Turn 2 wall.

Here is a video of the crash:

Johnson’s team would make repairs, and would clear the DVP clock, but on lap 103, Johnson would bring his No. 84 car behind the wall.

On the same lap that Johnson pulled behind the wall, Erik Jones also pulled the No. 43 LEGACY MOTOR CLUB car behind the wall, and a couple of laps later Noah Gragson, the third LEGACY MOTOR CLUB car did the same.

A little while later, Johnson pulled his No. 84 Chevrolet Camaro back onto the racetrack, as did his two teammates.

However, the bad day would get even worse for Johnson, as he would make contact with his LEGACY MOTOR CLUB teammate Gragson on Lap 164. Johnson would again go into the wall, and this time he would drop out of the race.

The 47-year-old racer was making his third start of the NASCAR Cup Series season. Johnson competed well in the season-opening Daytona 500, but was involved in late-race crash and was credited with a 31st-place finish.

Johnson’s second start of the year came at Circuit of the Americas, and the racer wss done before that race even really began as he crashed on the opening lap of the race and finished 38th in the 39-car field.
