Denny Hamlin has become the second victim of Charlotte Motor Speedway on the first day of a two-day organizational test for the Next Gen car at the 1.5-mile oval.

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver was traveling at a high rate of speed in turns three and four when his No. 11 Toyota Camry lost traction and went for a slide in turn four. Fortunately, Hamlin was able to prevent damage to the vehicle by keeping it off of the wall.

NASCAR’s official Twitter account captured video of the spin – likely through its YouTube live stream — and posted it to Twitter on Wednesday morning.

However, Hamlin wasn’t the only driver to step over the edge in the morning’s testing session, as 2017 Coca-Cola 600 winner Austin Dillon crashed pretty early in the session, causing significant damage to his Bass Pro Shops No. 3.

TobyChristie.com was able to capture some exclusive content of the damage to the No. 3 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet Camaro, as it was being towed back to the garage.
