Video: Daniel Suarez’s Race Comes to an End After MASSIVE Fire

After a hotly contested opening Stage of Saturday night’s NASCAR Cup Series Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway came to an end, Daniel Suarez got a little hot under the collar in the No. 99 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

Under the Stage caution, a massive fire broke out in the rear of Suarez’s No. 99 machine as he was exiting his pit stall. Suarez’s car had a little bit of fuel spilled behind it, and as Denny Hamlin was pulling through Suarez’s stall, a backfire from his No. 11 car’s exhaust pipe ignited the puddle of fuel, which set the No. 99 car on fire.

As Suarez drove around the track, the fire intensified. He was able to make it back to pit road, where he parked, got out of the car under his own power, and the safety workers put the fire out.

At least Suarez has the perfect sponsorship partner to help him cool down after the wild fire, Coke Zero Sugar.
