Video: Corey LaJoie Hooks Kyle Busch Heading to Turn 1; Collects Six Cars

The dismal season for Kyle Busch and Richard Childress Racing continues into Sunday’s The Great American Getaway 400 at Pocono Raceway.

Busch, who had struggled to crack the top 25 throughout much of the race’s opening 100 laps, was running around 16th place on the restart, when contact from Corey LaJoie sent the No. 8 spinning to the inside of the racetrack, and back up into traffic, collecting several others.

At first, the incident looked to be a result of a major block from Busch on LaJoie, but upon further consideration, replays show a second instance of contact where the Spire Motorsports driver turned right and hooked the No. 8.

After being hooked, the Richard Childress Racing driver came back up the racetrack into the path of the second half of the field, collecting several others including Ryan Preece, Harrison Burton, Carson Hocevar, AJ Allmendinger, and Ricky Stenhouse, Jr.

When asked about the incident, Busch gave a very polite answer, thanking his team for their hard work. Then, when asked if a conversation needed to be had between him and LaJoie, the two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion gave a simple response: “Nah”.

Preece, Burton, Busch, and Stenhouse were unable to continue with the damage they sustained in the heavy accident. Hocevar, Allmendinger, and LaJoie were able to continue and remained on the lead-lap.

  1. The only difference I see that others hooked in the rear is, Cory hooed the left side and put Kyle in the iinfield and and notthe wall. No fine, let’s get back to Drivers Have At It, Kyle a big boy have a great menory. He has a debt and pay and Cory will have a check to cash.
