Video: Contact from Erik Jones Sends Josh Berry Flying into Turn 11; Collects At Least 10 Cars

This is exactly the type of crash that was expected when Sonoma Raceway replaced the tire packs in Turn 11 with a concrete wall.

In a calamity-filled event at the 1.99-mile road course, Josh Berry was running in the middle of the pack, when contact from Erik Jones sent him towards the inside wall.

Then, with the wall funneling down to the hairpin, the No. 4 Ford Mustang had nowhere to go, and launched into traffic — which featured several rows of double-wide racing.

Austin Dillon, Josh Berry, Corey LaJoie, Noah Gragson, Martin Truex, Jr., Christopher Bell, William Byron, Daniel Hemric, Justin Haley, and Cam Waters all sustained damage in the melee.

However, the damage to each of the drivers involved was minor and didn’t require anybody to retire from the event. Austin Dillon had the most significant repairs to make, but made it out in time.

  1. Contact from Jones? This sure looks like Berry making the contact. Jones had the inside and Berry put his car where another car already was.
