Cody Ware has been evaluated and released from the infield care center after a scary head-on crash at Texas Motor Speedway. Screengrab from USA Network.

The NASCAR world has held their breath for good news following a scary crash involving Cody Ware on lap 169 of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Autotrader EchoPark 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. Finally, during a red flag for weather, we were all able to exhale as Ware has been checked and released from the infield care center.

Ware’s No. 51 Rick Ware Racing car just darted right in the middle of turns 3 and 4, which shot his car head-on into the outside wall.

After the impact, Ware’s car skidded out of control down pit road and nearly struck the break in the pit road wall.

Here is a replay of Ware’s hard crash:

And here is footage from inside Ware’s car of the incident:

According to USA Network’s Kim Coon, Ware underwent x-rays due to discomfort in his ankle. However, Ware was not found to have any bone breaks and he was not diagnosed with a concussion.

Rick Ware Racing’s team manager Robby Benton says that he expects Ware to compete next weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, but it will all hinge on clearance from NASCAR.
