Video: Chase Elliott Loses Control From Sixth-Place Late at Nashville

Chase Elliott is going to have a lot of track position to make up in the final 75 laps of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series event at Nashville Superspeedway, after a single-car incident exiting the fourth corner.

Elliott was running sixth at the time of the incident, battling for the position with Ty Gibbs, when the No. 9 NAPA Auto Parts Chevrolet snapped loose at corner exit, spinning through the grass on the frontstretch.

The Dawsonville, Georgia native didn’t sustain any major damage in the incident, but lost several positions on the racetrack and ultimately his chance at becoming the 1.33-mile speedway’s first-ever multi-time NASCAR Cup Series winner.

Driving for Hendrick Motorsports, Elliott would continue on-track and remain on the lead lap, hoping to continue a top-20 streak that he has held for every NASCAR Cup Series event in 2024.
