Kyle Larson has four-career NASCAR Cup Series wins at the two two-mile ovals on the circuit (Michigan and Auto Club Speedway), so confidence is always high when he heads to one of the two tracks. However, Sunday at Auto Club, Larson’s hopes to contend for a win were sent hard into the wall.
After the mid-way point of Stage 1, Larson was being bump drafted down the straightaway by Hamlin. The drafting caused Larson to come up fast on another car.
As Larson tried to maneuver around the other car, Hamlin continued bumping. This sent Larson hard into the wall.
