Video: Air Byron! William Byron Launches in Air, Lands on Keselowski’s Car

I can genuinely say that I’ve never seen that one before. Late in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Go Bowling at The Glen, two Playoff contenders found trouble with seven laps remaining.

On the exit of the esses, William Byron made an aggressive move to the left of Joey Logano for position, when Logano made slight contact with Brad Keselowski ahead of him. That contact sent Logano into Byron.

As Byron attempted to continue to navigate around Logano, the contact from Logano also slowed Keselowski down ahead of Byron, and as Byron exited the esses, he had nowhere to go and collided with the rear of Keselowski’s No. 6 RFK Racing Ford. That contact launched Byron into the air, he would collide with the Armco barrier, and Keselowski would spin into the barrier as well.

In a frightening moment, Byron’s car slammed back down seemingly in the driver’s side window net area of Keselowski’s car. Thankfully, the window net held up.

After Keselowski did some maneuvering he was able to get the No. 24 car dislodged from his car.

It’s been a trouble-filled afternoon at Watkins Glen International for Playoff contenders as Ryan Blaney, Denny Hamlin, Christopher Bell, Harrison Burton, Keselowski, Byron, Kyle Larson and more have run into an issue of some kind throughout the race.
