After finishing 13th in Saturday’s Xfinity Series event at Portland, Live Fast Motorsports has tapped Scott Heckert to pilot the No. 78 Ford Mustang in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series event at Sonoma.

Sunday’s Toyota / Save Mart 350 will mark the fourth start at NASCAR’s top level for Heckert, who partnered with Live Fast Motorsports for three road races one season ago, recording a best finish of 26th at Sonoma.

Joining Heckert at Live Fast Motorsports for this weekend’s event will be Pala Casino, which has further extended its partnership with the single-car operation to include Sunday’s event at the 2.52-mile road course.

“Live Fast Motorsports, BJ [McLeod], Scott [Heckert], and the crew epitomize the spirit of the competition, working hard to be the best at what they do, and embracing the support and loyalty of their fan base,” said Director of Player Development, Brian Roe.

“For the past 20 years, the Pala Band of Mission Indians and Pala Casino have shown the same passion and enthusiasm for its guests and contributing to the benefit of the local community,” Roe continued. “We’re proud to partner with a team that’s all about their fans as much as we are.”

After adorning the No. 78 Ford Mustang at Auto Club Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway earlier this season, the expanded partnership between the two parties will include this weekend’s event at Sonoma, as well as events at Las Vegas and Phoenix in November.

“Big thanks to Pala Casino for coming on board at Sonoma,” said Heckert. “Team Live Fast and I had a great run here last year so I’m hoping to build on this while learning the ins and outs of NASCAR’s Next-Gen race car.”

Entering Sonoma, Live Fast Motorsports sits 36th in 2022 NASCAR Cup Series owner points, the lowest of the 36 chartered teams guaranteed to qualify for each event over the course of the season.
