OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

Welcome, N.C. (February 13, 2019) – Rim Ryderz will make their first appearance in NASCAR when the maker of skateboard rims sponsors Casey Mears’ No. 27 Camaro ZL1 in the 61st running of the Daytona 500 this Sunday. Rim Ryderz will adorn the hood as the primary sponsor of Germain Racing’s second entry, which was built in collaboration with Premium Motorsports, for the “Great American Race”. Last weekend, Mears locked his Chevrolet into the Daytona 500 with his qualifying speed.

Cars shouldn’t have all the fun. Rim Ryderz offers skaters the opportunity to show off their personal style with interchangeable rims that lock into place for a safe, smooth ride that feels as good as it looks. The high-performance accessories complement skateboards for everyone from the weekend warriors to the everyday cruisers.

“We are thrilled to welcome Rim Ryderz to NASCAR,” said Bob Germain, owner of Germain Racing. “The No. 27 Rim Ryderz Camaro ZL1 will look great on the racetrack. Casey Mears is a great friend of our team, and I’m glad that we could connect Rim Ryderz with him for our biggest race of the year. Casey is a veteran driver and has done very well at superspeedways in the past. I know that he will put on an exciting show for them.”

Mears was announced earlier as the driver of Germain Racing’s second entry into the Daytona 500. This will be Mears’ 13th appearance in season-opening race. Close to capturing a win, Mears scored a second-place finish in the 2006 Daytona 500.

“Rim Ryderz is such a cool company,” said Mears. “Giving skateboarders an easy way to customize their boards with different rims is a great concept. I am looking forward to having them join us for the Daytona 500. I love this race and am excited for another opportunity to compete in it. I would love to be able to take Rim Ryderz with me to Victory Lane at the end of 500 miles on Sunday.”

The Daytona 500 will be run on Sunday, February 17. The race will air live on FOX, Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio at 2:30 p.m. ET.
