Ty Norris, now-former President and Chief Business Officer of Trackhouse Racing has departed the organization after three seasons together, according to a report Tuesday from Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic.
Norris joined Trackhouse Racing as it was formed in 2021, and has since served as an integral part of molding the organization into the soon-to-be three-car operation that it will become starting in 2025, with major moves made in the meantime like purchasing Chip Ganassi Racing, the founding of PROJECT91, and a third charter purchased from Stewart-Haas Racing for Shane Van Gisbergen to run full-time.
The report from Bianchi, which was posted exclusively to X (formerly Twitter), states that Norris amicably left the organization and is believed to be moving to fellow NASCAR Cup Series team Kaulig Racing, which fields a pair of entries full-time.
The 59-year-old is one of the most well-known executives in the industry, after spending an eight-year stint working as Executive Vice President for Dale Earnhardt, Inc., before departing the organization in 2004.
Other roles for Norris include Vice President of Special Projects for Speedway Motorsports, Inc. (2004-2005), the longest role of his career at Michael Waltrip Racing (2005-2015), plus President of both Spire Sports + Entertainment and Spire Motorsports, before leaving the organization in 2020.
TobyChristie.com has reached out to Trackhouse Racing for confirmation of Norris’ departure from the organization but has yet to receive a response.
Further backing up Bianchi’s report is the fact that Trackhouse’s pre-race advance for the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol doesn’t include Norris in its list of executives, as the organization has done every week for the 2024 season.
