Well, it will be a one and done for Daniel Hemric in Richard Childress Racing’s No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. On Tuesday, the team announced through a statement on social media that they are parting ways with the 28-year old driver at the conclusion of his rookie season.

Hemric, who leads Ryan Preece in the Rookie of the Year Standings, has a top-five and two top-10 finishes this season and sits 25th in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Standings.

His best finish was a fifth place effort at Talladega Superspeedway back in the spring.

In the statement, the team states that more announcements will be following, but this seems to pave the way for Tyler Reddick, who drives the team’s No. 2 car in the NASCAR Xfinity Series currently, to move to Cup full-time next season.

Reddick has five wins this year in the NXS and he is one of the major championship favorites. Reddick also won the 2018 NXS championship while driving for JR Motorsports.

In recent months, RCR had become vocal about doing what they could to get Reddick to the Cup Series full-time next season. It appears that desire has cost Hemric his seat.
