Denny Hamlin, who was set to start from the pole in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Dixie Vodka 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, will now drop to the rear before the start of the race after unapproved adjustments to his No. 11 FedEx Toyota Camry.

Hamlin will join Alex Bowman, Corey LaJoie and James Davison in dropping to the rear.

Hamlin will still be credited with the official first-place starting spot, but he will drop to the rear before Sunday’s race.

Last year, Hamlin won at Homestead after starting from the pole and he lead 137 of the 267 laps in the event. It’ll be a much tougher path to a win on Sunday, although his car will undoubtedly be fast.
