Absolutely sad news out of Muskogee, Oklahoma, which involves the family of Jimmie Johnson’s wife Chandra Janway.

According to Muskogee police, the parents of Chandra Janway, Jack (69), and Terry Janway (68), and their 11-year-old grandson Dalton Janway were all found dead following a fatal shooting at their home in Oklahoma on Monday.

Police were dispatched to the home at approximately 9:05 PM on Monday following a distressed call from a woman explaining that there was a disturbance and someone with a gun at the residence.

The Muskogee Police Department states that the situation is being investigated as a murder-suicide. The first report of the tragedy came from Muskogee Phoenix.

An attempt by TobyChristie.com to speak with Officer Lynn Hamlin of the Muskogee Police Department has gone unanswered at this time.

According to the Muskogee Phoenix report, Officer Lynn Hamlin of the Muskogee Police Department confirmed that Terry, Jack and Dalton Janway were the three fatalities in Monday evening’s shooting. Hamlin also confirmed to Muskogee Phoenix that Terry Janway is considered to be the shooter at this time. Investigators are attempting to piece together what led to the shooting.

Jack Janway was a prominent chiropractor in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and his client list even included Muskogee Mayor Marlon Coleman. In an interview with FOX 23, Mayor Coleman says he is traumatized by the news, and that people need to help each other with mental well-being.

“One thing I want to say to my community right now is that more than ever, we need to love each other,” Coleman said. “We need to be concerned about each other enough that if we identify issue with family or friends, that we talk to them and get them the help that they need.”

While racing is not an important topic in the wake of this tragedy, seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson is scheduled to return to the track this weekend in the NASCAR Cup Series Chicago Street Race. Johnson is set to make his fourth start of the 2023 season.

Attempts by TobyChristie.com to obtain a statement from Johnson, or his LEGACY MOTOR CLUB team, or to get an update on his racing status for this weekend have also gone unanswered at the time of publishing. Any updates will be added to this story as they come in.
