A few days after taking a stand against racism in the pre-race of the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, NASCAR issued another strong statement of inclusion within the sport on Tuesday, as the sanctioning body announced they’ll be participating in Pride Month.

NASCAR issued the following statement on their social media channels:

NASCAR will be participating in the first-ever You Can Play Pride Auction. The sanctioning body will be auctioning off a signed helmet, two tickets and a VIP experience to a 2021 NASCAR Cup Series event for the winning bidder.

If you would like to place your bid in the auction, here it will be open to bidding from June 15th to the 30th at: https://youcanplaypride.givesmart.com/

According to a press release from NASCAR, You Can Play is an organization dedicated to ensuring equality, respect and safety for all athletes, without regard to sexual orientation and/or gender identity. Its programs are designed to support the LGBTQ+ community by building a network around them.

This is the latest huge step of vocal inclusion within the sport of NASCAR.

  1. As of yesterday we ate boycotting all mascara sponsors…we have started calling all NASCAR sponsors and let them know if they have anything to do with NASCAR we will boycott them as well we know longer want youon the air or in our stores time to shut you down…

  2. I’m offended by NASCAR’s support for lgbtq, but I guess that does not matter, like it does to others, with different symbols. If I don’t agree with you, I’m a racist.
