Big news from Rick Ware Racing on Thursday, as they will be partnering with Australian driver James Davison for three races in the month of August including the world-famous Indianapolis 500.

In addition to the Indy 500, Davison will drive the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series race at the Daytona Road Course on August 16th and the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway on August 29th.

Davison will run the No. 51 in all three events and sponsorship for the races will come from Jacob Construction.

The Indy 500 entry will feature a partnership between RWR and Dale Coyne Racing, according to an interview with Rick Ware on NBC Sports.

If Davison makes the field for the Indianapolis 500 in the No. 51 machine, this will mark his sixth time in the iconic race.

Davison has made three NASCAR Cup Series starts in 2020, and has done well finishing top-30 in two of the three races and causing no issues on track through his three efforts.

For Rick Ware Racing, this is a huge step. The team fields four NASCAR Cup Series teams and they have also fielded some sports cars this season in the Asian Le Mans Series.
