During inspection at Talladega Superspeedway on Friday, NASCAR did not like what it saw with the deck lid on Richard Childress Racing’s No. 3 car. The sanctioning body stripped the deck lid from the car and took it to the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series hauler.

This is not a good start to the weekend for Austin Dillon’s No. 3 team.

A NASCAR spokesman has stated that any penalties from the infraction will not be announced until after the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday.
