After making its first NASCAR Cup Series appearance since 2022 at Circuit of The Americas (COTA), MBM Motorsports is set to field its No. 66 Ford Mustang Dark Horse in an additional two events this season, the organization confirmed on Monday.

Timmy Hill, a long-time driver for MBM Motorsports across the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series, will be returning to the seat of the No. 66 Ford Mustang at North Wilkesboro Speedway, piloting the entry in the NASCAR All-Star Open.
With the addition of the All-Star Open to his schedule that weekend, Hill will be running double-duty at the newly-repaved 0.625-mile facility that has played such an integral part in the history of the NASCAR Cup Series, also driving the No. 56 Toyota Tundra in the NASCAR Truck Series event.
A native of Port Tobacco, Maryland, Hill has made a total of 142 NASCAR Cup Series starts throughout his 12-year career at NASCAR’s top-level – 80 of which have come for Carl Long and MBM Motorsports – recording a career-best 14th-place finish at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2017 with MBM Motorsports.
The following weekend, MBM Motorsports will be returning to the NASCAR Cup Series to compete in the Coca-Cola 600, the longest event of the year, with David Starr behind the wheel of the No. 66 Ford Mustang Dark Horse — his first start at NASCAR’s top-level since 2021.
At 57 years old, Starr will be attempting to make his third start in the 600-mile contest at Charlotte Motor Speedway and the first since running the event for MBM Motorsports in 2021. Additionally, the start will serve as the Texas-native’s debut in the seventh-generation racecar.
In the organization’s return to the NASCAR Cup Series, Timmy Hill recorded a 36th-place finish, after Sunday’s EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix was an unusually low attrition race, with only one driver failing to finish — and one driver getting disqualified.
Despite having a NASCAR career that spans 25-plus years, Starr has only made 17 starts in the NASCAR Cup Series, picking up a career-best result of 23rd place for MBM Motorsports at his home track of Texas Motor Speedway in 2021.
As of the time of publishing, Starr is only the second open entry to be confirmed running the Coca-Cola 600, joining seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson, meaning that for the time being, the No. 66 should be locked into the field for the prestigious event.
