The more things change, the more they stay the same. At least that was the case in Saturday’s single-car qualifying, with Kyle Busch posting the fastest lap time of the exhibition event’s 36 entrants.

The two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion got around the 0.25-mile LA Memorial Coliseum in 13.745 seconds, an average speed of 65.478mph. Busch’s blazing lap time will afford him the pole position in the first of four heat races on Sunday.

Tyler Reddick, Justin Haley, and Joey Logano rounded out the top four, meaning they’ll start from the lead in heats two through four, respectively. Daniel Suarez, Cole Custer, Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., and Harrison Burton rounded out the top-10.

Other notables include: William Byron (11th), Ryan Blaney (13th), Alex Bowman (14th), Christopher Bell (15th), Denny Hamlin (17th), Bubba Wallace (18th), Aric Almirola (21st), Kevin Harvick (23rd), Brad Keselowski (30th), Kurt Busch (32nd), and Martin Truex Jr. (34th).
