(PC: David Marrero)September 11th, 2021, will mark the 20th anniversary of one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in United States history.

Being a sport that honors its country and servicemen and women with a debt of gratitude, the colors of red, white and blue, are likely to show up more widespread than usual at the short track.

Live Fast Motorsports and BJ McLeod are set to remember those who lost their lives on that tragic day with a special paint scheme in collaboration with sponsor Keen Parts.

“We wanted to run a paint scheme to remind everyone that the day our country was attacked and the countless lives lost should never be forgotten under any circumstances, said Tom and TJ Keen, owners of Keen Parts inc., to TobyChirstie.com. “What it means to us is that we are very blessed as a country yet very vulnerable to losing what we hold near and dear to us – our freedoms. We can never get complacent or forget that horrific day in the history of this country. So many lives lost and families torn apart. They deserve to be remembered.”

The paint scheme was crafted by David Marrero. The design will feature a silhouette of the New York City skyline with the twin towers prominently in the center.

The car holds a special meaning to the Florida-based designer, as Marrero has served in the Navy, Army, and Marines during his military career.

“I served in Afghanistan and Iraq after 9/11,” Marrero told TobyChristie.com. “And this has been the hardest car I’ve ever done because it’s a memorial car.”

The Live Fast group is riding some great momentum following the regular-season finale at Daytona.

In a very appropriately designed car for the Sunshine State, McLeod wheeled his No. 78 to the organization’s first top 10 in team history.

Fans can see the special No. 78 Keen Parts Mustang hit the track on Saturday, September 11th at 7:30 p.m. EST on NBCSN.
