Kyle Busch made headlines for his post-race media availability following the NASCAR Cup Series Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway this past weekend, where he finished second to Kevin Harvick. Busch, who is still search for his first win of 2020 after 29 races, had numerous memorable quotes including saying that he expects to be bounced from the Playoffs in the Round of 12, that Joey Logano has no friends and he took a shot at Joey Gase and Garrett Smithley by calling them, “Dipshit kids.”

Busch was lamenting the two young drivers, who pilot cars for underdog organizations each week — at Bristol, Gase was driving for Rick Ware Racing, while Smithley was driving for BJ McLeod — for being in the way as lapped traffic late in the race on Saturday night.

After hearing about the comment, Smithley was stunned as he never had an encounter with Busch on Saturday night, and he chalked the ordeal up to Busch potentially not knowing which car he was in during the race. However, Gase opted to gain retribution for the quote by posting a Tweet definitely aimed at Busch.

Gase had taken the victory in the DNQ Karting Series race at Millbridge Speedway on Monday night after holding off the No. 18 car in the race. On Tuesday, in his Tweet about the win, Gase emphasized the car No. 18 (Busch’s car number) and he also took a dig at the driver of the NASCAR No. 18 car by saying that, unlike Busch, he was able to figure out how to pass lapped cars and not let the win slip through his hands.

While Kyle Busch has 212 more NASCAR National Series wins under his belt than Gase, you can’t deny that Gase should get style points for an epic clap back.
